The man-land relationship has been existed since origin of human, and it become one of core domains in geography research. The stability of man-land relationship is deciding the sustainable development of society and economy in arid area oasis. Research area—Karky oasis,which located in southern Xinjiang,is one of the typical ECTONE on the margin of the Taklimakan desert and where has the bad natural conditions. To make it as the study area will be useful to protect and develop the eco-system in the western China. To study the area can help the local government take some effective measurements and work out the detailed plan。All those will make the local people rich as early as possible. So, in arid and semi-arid ecological environment the Karky oasis was selected as a case.In the method take the man-land relationship theory as the based theory, the remote sensing and the geographic information system as main technology, according to mutual effect between"man system"and"land system"in man-land relationship, caring on image simulation to three influence factor which reflected the man-land relationship, and make the research to it's spatial distribution and temporal change. Make raster calculation to three raster image and as the result we obtained grid map of man-land relationship in Karky oasis. Analyzes the changing of Karky oasis man-land relationship situation near ten year from annual and the spatial domain. And make analysis to the attribute factor (man-land relationship coefficient) which represented by the grid map of man-land relationship (ML). Through take relevant analysis between four grid images, analyze the driving factor which affected Karky oasis man-land relationship condition and provides scientific management and policy-making to restores ecological environment reconstruction, and land sustainable development in Karky oasis. The result shows below:1. Resent 20 years Karky oasis man-land relationship is inconsistency specially from 1989 to 1999. Compared to 1999 and 2001, 1989 Karky oasis man-land relationship condition is more relaxative. The man-land relationship coefficient (ML) compares 1999 and 2001 also smaller, the maximum value is 6269, has nearly 80% of man-land relationship coefficient is smaller than 100, moreover many place this coefficient is smaller than 10, these areas mainly include ECTONE. The place where man-land relationship coefficient (ML) is bigger than 1000, its land cover type mainly is farmland, indicated that in this part of region, human activity pressure to geographical environment is quite centralized.2. compare to 1989, in 1999 obviously Karky oasis man-land relationship is inconsistency, mainly displayed that the man-land relationship coefficient (ML)'s maximum value achieves 27668, this coefficient three times than 1989, although in the grassland this coefficient was still majority smaller than 100, but was bigger than by far in 1989, but nearly all was bigger than 20, this explained that compared with1989 the grassland's man-land relationship condition is more inconsistency. Most changing of man-land relationship coefficient in Karky oasis is farmland, not only maximum value but also the average value has largely increased. In this part of region, nearly 80% farmland's man-land relationship coefficient is bigger than 5000, explained that this part of region the man-land relationship compared with 1989 is largely inconsistency, the contradictory between human and land is obviously.3. In 2001 Karky oasis's man-land relationship condition compared with 1999 has rare change, indicated that during three years the development of economy and society is tended to stably. The pressure that human activity forced to geographical environment is in a high level, but this pressure has not the tendency of increasing. For all that, still has some part of regions's man-land relationship coefficient (ML) has some bit of increases. These regions mainly are farmland, mainly concentrates in some villages that approaching towns government. In recent years, these region's population has a rapid growth, the pressure that human activity forced to geographical environment is suddenly increased, result in the man-land relationship coefficient has some increases, the maximum value of this coefficient achieved 39001, and near 30% farmland region the maximum of man-land relationship coefficient is bigger than in 1999's maximum value. Explained that from 1999 to 2001, Karky oasis man-land relationship condition is stable , but still has small part of region's man-land relationship condition quite inconsistency for the reason of population growth and the development of economy level.4. Through make relevant analysis between four grids image which attributed by driving that affected Karky oasis'man-land relationship condition. From the result we found whenever 1989, 1999 or 2001, between man-land relationship condition grid image and population density grid image or economical density grid image has positive correlation, and population density grid image's relevance with man-land relationship condition grid image is bigger than the economical density grid image. Simultaneously between man-land relationship condition grid image and resources and environment condition grid image existed minus correlation. In other words, in three driving factor which affected Karky oasis'man-land relationship condition the human factor, the population factor is more important than economical factor. Meanwhile natural factor (resources and environment condition) has minus correlation with man-land relationship condition of Karky oasis.
