Chinese Crocodile Lizard (Shinisaurus crocodilurus) byname da shui she,luo shui gou,wu zhua jin long.It was placed in the CITESâ…¡, belong to first protect animal in China. It is mainly distributing in China and Vietnam. In China, it is distributing in Jin-xiu, Zhao-ping, He-zhou, Gui-ping, Meng-shan in Guangxi Province and Luokeng Nature Reserve in Guangdong Province. Chinese Crocodile Lizard in some distributing area were discovered very difficult because of the power of protect is not enough. There are few Lizards in Antu Nature Reserve in Guangning Province of Vietnam. In this research, we investigated more habitat of Chinese Crocodile Lizard, noted the whole year habitat selection parameter, make the most of integrated ecological factors to supply a gap in habitat selection and used 3S tecnology to analysis Landscape Pattern of Chinese Crocodile Lizard. We analysis the quality and fragmentation status of habitat in landscape level. In this study ,we can provide some academic and actual reference for the availably manage and decision-making of Chinese Crocodile Lizard. The study areas of landscape pattern part inculde Jin-xiu, Zhao-ping, He-zhou, Gui-ping, Meng-shan and Luokeng Nature Reserve in Guangdong Province. The study area of habitat selection part was Luokeng Nature Reserve in Guangdong Province. The main results are as following:1,The habitat landscape pattern of Chinese Crocodile Lizard was studied by means of TM remote sensing image, electron map and relief map as the main information source and GIS as the main tool. We classified the habitat of Chinese Crocodile Lizard in nine landscape types, include broadleaf forest, conifer forest, mixed stands, wood-glass lands, bamboo forest, paddyfields, bare area, construction lands, waters.2,We analyzed the main index of landscape pattern and habitat fragmentation of Jin-xiu, Zhao-ping, He-zhou, Gui-ping, Meng-shan and Luokeng Nature Reserve in Guangdong Province with Fragstats and Patch Analyst:2.1 The total area of study regions are 7384.61ha,485.39ha,2879.81ha,33508.19 ha, 220.40 ha,1017.12 ha,353.94 ha,571.60 ha,1030.34 ha respectively.2.2 The mean patch areas are 17.42 ha,4.08 ha,9.41 ha,14.58 ha,20.04 ha,3.69 ha,3.13 ha,12.99 ha,18.73 ha respectively.2.3 The Contagion index of study regions are 79.47,62.35,54.46,52.45,70.22,59.64,59.69,56.84,62.85 respectively.2.4 The Shannon-Weinner index of study regions are 0.62,0.92,1.22,1.20,1.12,0.58,1.12,1.34,0.95,0.96 respectively.2.5 The forest patch area fragmentation index are 0.0052,0.0317,0.0095,0.0062,0.0041,0.0243,0.0285,0.0068,0.0047 respectively.2.6 The landscape patch number fragmentation index are 0.0052,0.0317,0.0095,0.0062,0.0041,0.0243,0.0285,0.0068,0.0047 respectively.3,During March to October in 2006, we discovered 133 Chinese Crocodile Lizard and analysised their habitat selection in Luokeng Nature Reserve in Guangdong Province with Resource Select Function method of Wu et al (2005) [56]: The main four ecological factors that influence Chinese Crocodile Lizard, in spring were vegetation cover degree, percent of deadwood, vegetation type, bottom of pond component; in summer were vegetation cover degree, vegetation type, bottom of pond component, pond size;in autumn were vegetation cover degree, vegetation type, bank condition, bottom of pond component.4,The habitat selection of Chinese Crocodile Lizard had seasonal diversity. The vegetation cover degree, vegetation type, bottom of pond component were main ecological factors in spring, summer and autumn too.The diversity of three season was: in spring, Chinese Crocodile Lizards enjoy selected deadwood as shelter;in summer, they enjoy selected the middling size of pond ;in autumn, they enjoy selected covert bank condition.
