As the development of digital technology and communication technology, the modern electrical systems become more and more complex. Every kind of high power electromagnetic wave produced by mankind or the nature interfere the electrical systems badly. So it is necessary to make sure of that electrical systems have more power to be free of the interference of the complicated EM environment, analyze the EMC of the system and redesign it again. The theory of electromagnetic topology provides a method to study of electromagnetic coupling of complicated system. The concept of electromagnetic topology was put forward by C. E. Baum at 1970th. Then he deduced the famous BLT equation in electromagnetic topology with T. K. Liu and F. M. Tesche. Because it is still confidential in military, it was mentioned briefly in public paper. This paper is based on it, and the main content and innovative results are as follows:First, through difficult deductions and brave assumes in theory, this paper deducted the BLT equation. From the deduction, we can see that every parameter in BLT equation, which was based on multiconductor transmission lines modes, has clearly physical means and computational methods. It is much more valuable for the application of the BLT equation.Second, based on the scattering property of elementary sources (conclude electric dipole and magnetic dipole), this paper deduced the formula of computing the radiation field produced by the traveling wave components on a transmission line. Furthermore, we can study the electromagnetic circumstance produced by the traveling wave.Third, based on BLT equations, this paper studied the electromagnetic coupling problems in aperture penetration modes and transmission line cross-talk modes in existence, and get the concretely formulas to estimate the electromagnetic response in the modes. At last, we can see that BLT equation is a much more effective method in electromagnetic interference analysis.
