Geological modeling has been a field that has attracted the interest of many researchers in recent years, and the core is the reservoir model. The main question in reservoir research or prediction is the reservoir heterogeneity. To describe the characters of reservoir heterogeneity's changes and distributions in 3D (also means that the distributions of reservoir sand body framework and inner physical property parameters in 3D) through studying geological model has become a hot and difficult point nowadays in the fields of fine reservoir description research both at home and abroad. With the help of various kinds of useful data, such as geologic, well logging, well testing and reservoir production dynamic data, etc., the author of the paper has, by adopting the method of Facies Controlled Modeling, carried out a research of the fine reservoir description on the DU 229 oil field. First, multiple-point statistics has been used to simulate sedimentary microfacies, then the reservoir model has been set up on the basis of the research on sedimentary microfacies. Study has shown that the method of multiple-point statistics is not only in accordance with logging data, but also shows the spatial geometric form of the geologic body. The method of Facies Controlled Modeling has become restricted to spatial extension of reservoir parameters, and has well described reservoir heterogeneity. After wide spaced wells testing for twenty wells, it shown a good coherence between the building geologic model and real geologic data, and the reservoir parameter model is of high precision .On the basis of the researches of sedimentary microfacies and reservoir parameter distribution, the author of this paper has analyzed the main controlling factors, and holds that the reservoir parameter distribution is mainly controlled by the sedimentation.
