Time-frequency analysis is a powerful tool for nonstationary time-varying signal analysis, and becomes a hot spot in modern signal processing research.. Because seismic signal is a nonstationary signals, it provides us a time domain and frequency domain methods for the joint distribution of information. It clearly describes the relationship as seismic signal frequency changes over time for us. This paper focuses on the generalized S transform , introduces the concept, nature of time-frequency analysis, and gives the commonly used form of time-frequency analysis, for example, short-time Fourier transform, Wigner-Ville distribution, Wavelet transform, S transform. It does recearch in the time-frequency analysis on the seismic data processing. It introduces the the basic theory of disturbance attenuation and some simple applications of signal processing about the generalized S transform. Combined with seismic signal and noise characteristics, the disturbance is targeted attenuation from the time-frequency joint profile. On the application of general S transform interference attenuation of seismic data It has done a detailed analysis. The experiment shows that the method of seismic noise attenuation is effective; It also introduces a method of attenuation compensation based on the general S transform.as the stratum is not completely ideal elastic media, which will result in attenuation frequency energy because of the transmission of seismic wave. The attenuation compensation method based on general S transform overcomes inadequate aspect of the short-time Fourier transform and wavelet transform. The time-dependent absorption effects can be eliminated. The resolution of seismic data is improved. The relevant procedure made with Matlab for seismic signal analysis, disturbance attenuation and frequency attenuation compensation is applied to real seismic data, and achieves the desired results.
