Not only in the past and at present but also a period in the future, damage by water in mineaffect the exploitation of coal mine and safety. So it is one primary mission for safeexploitation of coal mine to reduce damage by water and then put an end to damage by water.The key to reduce damage by water and put an end to damage is to find the source, thentake precautions to prevent damage by water. Transient electromagnetic methods is one of thebest means to find water currently. General development, theory, characteristic andapplication domain of transient electromagnetic methods is introduced in this paper. Thentaking ZhaoGuan coal mine for example, data obtain, fine disposal and interpretation oftransient electromagnetic methods is also introduced. Firstly, data'dependability should beanalyzed firstly, data will be processed. The once rate of change and second rate of changeprocessing methods to transient electromagnetic methods data is introduced triumphantly. Inorder to get the map, once rote of change and second rate of change processing will be cardedthrough by the numerical analysis theory and the soft matlab and the soft surfer, and explainthe map. Contrasting once rate of change and second rate of change data to general data,indicate that transient electromagnetism data processed and explained in rate of change is a new andeffective method. Better effect will be gained by fine disposal and interpretation of ZhaoGuancoal mine. It is show the important guiding significance to mine exploitation andmanagement.
