The research of the Spatial Reasoning was begun in the early 1970s. It applies techniques and methods of the Artificial Intelligence in modeling, describing and c spatial objects, and it processes and analyses the spatial relations of spatial objects. It has occupied an important position in AI. In recent years, GIS became the most mature areas of application in the spatial reasoning. Especially, the development of WebGIS further expands its field of application to enable it to a wider range of areas for the user to provide more Spatial information services.The topological relations of the spatial objects are the most basic spatial relation, and constituted the basic aspect of the spatial reasoning, some researchers even point out, the relation of the spatial objects and objects themselves have the equal importance. More than the traditional model based on the simple topological spatial objects, but the actual application, it needs representing and reasoning complex spatial objects. The Spatial Analysis function of WebGIS platform establishes in the description of the location and attributes of spatial objects and in the description of the complex spatial relations among objects.Therefore, the research and development of the theory of spatial analysis becomes the focus of the study, it is necessary to establish a spatial topology model for complex Spatial objects. The work of this paper is a part of the National Natural Science Foundation project"complex Spatio-temporal reasoning and applied research (60773099)"and the National Natural Science Foundation of major projects "Description and Reasoning of Spatio-temporal knowledge (60496321)", which done by the symbolic computation and knowledge engineering laboratory of Jilin University. Based on researching the topological relations of spatial reasoning, this paper focuses on the analysis of region-region complex topological relation model. In order to make the Description and Reasoning consistency of spatial objects better, a refined model of topological relations between directed lines is proposed in this paper, and a refined model of directed line- region topological relationships is also proposed. Moreover, this paper has achieved some mature models of spatial relations determination in the PMGIS platform which was developed by the symbolic computation and knowledge engineering laboratory of Jilin University independent.And the theoretical study of complex topology model in this paper has been achieved in the PMGIS platform, too. It can form a spatial description and determination about the data in the map, and it also can be analyzed spatial relations of the data. And it finally applied to the area of agricultural information successfully.The main work and results included in this paper are as follows:Firstly, it is a short introduction on background and significance of this paper. We summarized and analyzed the state of arts on spatial relationship among objects in recent years. Secondly, some relevant basic theories of the work in this paper including interval algebra theory, topological relations model and distance and direction relations model are introduced briefly. In the temporal reasoning, the most important interval algebra theory can be considered as one-dimensional spatial relationship model. RCC theory focuses on the theoretical study of regional topology. N-intersection model is one of the models which are used to describe topological relations among spatial objects.Thirdly, multi-level topological relations between spatial regions based upon topological invariants which was proposed by Min Deng were in depth study. More than the traditional model based on the simple topological spatial objects, but the actual application, it needs describing and reasoning complex spatial objects. It is able to describe the topological relations of many intersections and tangents many between spatial regions.Fourthly, a refined model of complex topological relations between directed lines is proposed on the basis of the demand of practical applications. Direction is an important feature of linear entities. In the application, a description of the directed lines is more and more important than undirected lines. Kurata proposed the Head-body-tail Intersection model (HBT model for brevity) for Spatial Relations between Directed Line Segments. HBT model was considered the best one of the generic models. This paper defines a DLO (Directed Line Object) matrix based on some problems of HBT model in the practical application and the topological relations between directed lines. The DDLO model of complex topological relations between directed lines is proposed. It is better than HBT model in particular problem.Fifthly, a directed line-region refined model of complex topological relation is proposed based on study of the above two models. In the application, not only the topological relations between directed lines are more and more important, but also the Topological relations between directed line and region are the problems of the spatial relations analysis in GIS. This paper defines a DLR(Directed Line-Region)matrix based on some problems in the practical application. The DDLR model of complex topological relations between directed line and region is proposed.Sixthly, this paper introduced architecture, function and related Technology of the PMGIS platform which was developed by the symbolic computation and knowledge engineering laboratory of Jilin University independent.Finally, spatial analysis module of the PMGIS platform was designed and implemented in this paper. The module can obtain the basic information of spatial objects in the maps and analyze the spatial relations among the spatial objects from using some modules. And then it stores data in the database in order to querying and modifying. There are many models in the module, including point algebra, interval algebra, cardinal direction calculus, RCC5, RCC8 and 9-intersection model. This module can be considered to be an independent functional module. It provides a standardized input and output interfaces, and is used by the other functional modules of platform. The basic information of spatial objects is input, the output is the corresponding binary number storing in the database. In addition, the module uses complex topology model in this paper to handle complex topological relations.Directed line-directed line model and directed line-region refined model of complex topological relation those are proposed in this paper can refined describe the Directed line-directed line topological relations and directed line-region topological relations. These two models have been successfully applied in PMGIS platform which was developed by the symbolic computation and knowledge engineering laboratory of Jilin University independent. The spatial analysis module of the platform is able to handle some problems of agricultural information, and analyze Spatio-temporal information in agriculture.In a word, the study results of this paper have both theoretical significance and practical value, it can be applied to represent and analyze the spatial relations among objects in spatial reasoning and geographic information system.
