Three-Dimensional Visual Digital Space

The technique of three-dimensional laser scanning is presently a new researching focal point in surveying area. The three-dimensional laser scanner is an important tool for modeling in reverse engineering, which is widely applied in the domain of medicine, industrial manufacturing, computer visualization, civil engineering application etc. The present thesis discusses about basic concept and applying status quo of three-dimensional modeling in detail, such as reverse engineering, technique of three-dimensional laser scanning, virtual reality, digital space and so on. It then introduces the very important theory basis in three-dimensional digital space, i.e. computer graphics and basic using function of computer three-dimensional realization technique, i.e. OpenGL. It begins with point, line and surface in three-dimensional lower layer, and being integrated with VDS arithmetic in the self-made software, it effectively organizes large scale cloud data in one scene or multi-scene. Finally, the models in the scene which are made of a great number of triangular pieces come into being and they are saved in digital format.The first chapter of the present thesis introduces current frontiers of three-dimensional technique research to confirm the importance of three-dimensional visualization. The second chapter prepares basic theory and realization technique for the thesis. The third chapter briefly introduces the math model which is nowadays in common use in three-dimensional modeling so as to show VDS's data structure and arithmetical realization process, then it makes the evaluation for modeling precision to validate the method. The fourth chapter introduces VDS's the design thinking, system structure and detailed realization function and compares VDS with 3DMAX in brief. The fifth chapter summarizes the advantages and shortages of VDS, puts forward the work to do for the next step, enlarges the applying field and puts forward new expectations.
