Seismic reservoir prediction obtains the more and more extended application along with the seismic survey technology progress. Good benefit in exploration has been achieved. The principle and the physical significance of seismic inversion for reservoir prediction also rapidly developed and demonstrated good prospects.South steep slope belt and deep area of Biyang sag, which was discovered in thirty years ago, has a OIIP of 1.5*108tons(1,095MMBO)and remaining recoverable reserves over OIIP of 8.7*107 tons(635MMBO), representing big potential and the good exploration prospect, especially in nontectonic lithology . Therefore prediction research is performed in eastern part of Biyang sag area to seek new drilling target for increased reserves. The work had obvious economic efficiency and the social efficiency.The paper discussed the local geology, the structure and the reservoir characteristic in detail. Reservoir prediction and seismic inverse origin, the present situation and the future development direction are summarized in the paper. Inversion methods such as integral, recursion inversion, well logging restraint inversion and geological statistics inversion has carried on the thorough analysis and the research. The questions available inversion methods have been carried on the analysis and the comparison to each kind of inversion method characteristic and the suitable situation.Sparse pulse inversion and the geological statistics inversion carried out for reservoir prediction in the Biyang sag while the recursion inversion and the geological statistics inversion which used to the project research institute has carried on the detailed elaboration. Effecting of inversion parameter selection to the final result has been contrasted. Then different inversion methods have been proposed for certain situation.Five traps are interpreted and 3 drilling targets are confirmed based on above technology applied in Biyang sag area combined with hydrocarbon distribution characteristic and reservoir type.
