Mine resource is a kind of absolutely necessary material, and its exploitation can affect the regional economy development. There have been successful experiences in using remote sensing technology to monitor the exploitation situation of mineral resources at aboard, but at home, related experience are fairly rare. This paper makes use of some different sources of remote sensing data, choosing Qinshui county, Shanxi Province—a typical south region which cover with lots of trees, as experiment unit, studying on the exploitation situation of mineral resources using remote sensing technology and the integration technology support a very good thinking and method of technology for the father monitoring in the whole country.Through the field investigation and information collection, we fully realized the types of mine resources in this region, the style of the exploitation, the lawful range of mine exploitation and the physiognomy character of this region. This paper chooses three kinds of remote sensing data—ETM+,SPOT-5 and QuickBird, which have different spatial resolution, combing with the former TM data, using some methods of image processing.Many methods have been used to enhance the multi-spectral bands of ETM+,SPOT-5 and QuickBird data respectively, such as the principal components transformation and band ratios. The target information has been displayed better than before after the images have been processed, so that some mining characteristics can be found and interpreted easier.Many methods have been used to merged the panchromatic band and the multi-spectral bands of ETM+,SPOT-5 and QuickBird data respectively, such as HIS transform, algebra arithmetic and Brovey transform. The merged images not only maintain the multi-spectral bands characteristics but also improve the spatial resolution, so the target information can be extracted easily.Using interactive interpretation analyze the actuality and the dynamic change information of mine exploitation.Researching the image classification technology of SPOT-5 multi-spectral bands, and drawing a conclusion that the method of maximum likelihood which is commonly used can not lead to a good classified result, but it can be improved a lot after using the method of decision tree to ameliorate the image classification.Establishing mineral resource development condition database and the mineral resource development condition geographic information system which are used to store up, reorganize, statistic and analysis the extraction information of remote sensing, and this is helpful well for the decision-making.
