As the coming of the era of knowledge economy, the society needs people with more team spirit and potential ability. This diversified demand raises a serious research project for modern education. The most important of cultivating modernization personnel is to develop their spirit of innovation. The theory of multiple intelligences (abbreviation for MI) provides a new teaching methods and teaching theory to guide our work of teaching for the education sector. In this paper the theory of MI and problem-based learning's (abbreviation for PBL) backgrounds, definitions, characteristics and advantages are exposited respectively. Based on the theory of MI, the paper combines PBL with college physical experiment course, presents the model of developing college students MI, and designs the general steps of college physics experiment PBL. Because Teachers play a key role in the PBL, teachers'status and role are discussed in this paper.Based on college students MI model and implementation process of college physics experiment project, the related practices of teaching and research are studied in this paper. One practice is college physics polytechnic experiment project—"A large pendulum which demonstrates the result of two harmonic motions at parallel or right orientations". The other is college physics arts exploration experiment—"Chaos pendulum and the study of nonlinear". Practices show that the students'information literacy, problem-solving ability and innovative ability have been improved to a certain degree. This study provides good first-hand information for the scholars developing PBL research which combines MI with college specific course in the future. It also has a certain guiding significance and value for teaching practice of specific experimental courses in colleges.
