Study On The Model Of The Community-participation To Cycas Debaoensis Conservation And Sustainable Development

This article founded by WWF–protecting Cycas debaoensis project. Taking the Cycas debaoensis protection as an example, use a new education form--- volunteer students activity , take interviews, questionnaires, education training and any other methods in Fuping Village, Debao County, from the community's economic, management, culture, education and so on to start. According to sustainable development of the community economy and the environment, enhancing the community residents'ecological sense, aim to establish method on community participation Cycas debaoensis protection and sustainable development.Cycas debaoensis is the First Grade Conservation Status, distributed in the area of the junction of Yunnan and Guangxi, is the endemic species to southwestern China. Cycas debaoensis type population in Fuping village has been assigned to county-level nature reserves. However, the nature reserve management agency has not implemented the appropriate management of the nature reserve have not developed yet, protected areas and local residents did not signed the land contracts , the land is still mass of collective owned, and the nature reserve surrounding residents living in poverty, with low levels of education, lack of awareness. So the Cycas debaoensis serious threat to the survival, must be protected effectively.This study takes a new education form--- volunteer students activity to carry out and promote Cycas debaoensis conservation and sustainable development. Established"Cycas debaoensis Project Group"in Guangxi Normal university. Its member included curricula expert and graduate student (the author) and university student volunteer in Guangxi. The volunteer elected from in college student, the author and project expert response training, training contents include: sustainable theory, knowledge of new curriculum, environmental education, activities design, team development and local conditions, etc. Organized Volunteers propaganda and aid education in local, launched rich and colorful cultural activities, and brought the outside messages, new courses and environmental protection concepts. Activities reach the school and community. Made the publicity board to advocate the project's purpose and activity details etc. in cooperation with the Guilin Government carry out promotional activities.Develop and implement school-based curriculum. The school builds the teachers which the protected areas locate to Guangxi Normal University, in which they accepted the relevant knowledge and training for school-based curriculum development. The school builds school-based curriculum development team,the headmaster as the principal, the author of this article as a expert. At first the group courses prepared school-based curriculum development program, which contain the objectives of the program of courses, course content, curriculum implementation, evaluation explicit stipulations, after the program was adopted by all the teaching conference. School-based curriculum is emerged with the loose-leaf in the form of lectures. After more than one year's efforts, it has developed the " Cycas debaoensis conservation" school-based curriculum. The author compiled the school-based teaching materials in loose-leaf on the basis of finishing the process, which is trying out now. The teaching materials content include: interesting biological knowledge, knowledge of Cycads, Cycas debaoensis and the environment, sustainable development. Each of content is attached to the related activity design, More outdoor activities conducted, it break the boundaries between disciplines, changed the traditional teaching methods, it also encouraged students to explore independently. To combining with school-based curriculum development, School prescribes the third class in every Thursday afternoon is the development of school-based curriculum time. Every week each class has one lesson for the implementation of school-based curriculum. The higher level departments in charge of occasional urge teachers to schools, And against the reality of the school it have developed the corresponding evaluation system for teachers, encourage teachers to actively participate in curriculum development. The curriculum experts from Guangxi Normal University are also exchange on the network with the teachers, to guide them in theory. To can be maintained continuously, Guangxi Normal University in Shangping Tuen established "Cycas debaoensis conservation and education base", the Central School is also established the "conservation of Cycads learning base" therein, which make the interaction easily between the community and schools. Construct lifelong education system. Community residents are the main body of protection and development, it must be let the residents to participate in conservation planning work. So it must be educated them to enhance their literacy. In educational activities, such as the use of folk song loved by the masses of traditional cultural forms of publicity, resist unhealthy entertainment, construct of new rural ecological civilization. Hire technicians to the school, passing on practical technology in rural areas, recommended the ecological wealth for the community project, and vigorously develop economic community. The village regulations are very important in the community management .However, the original village regulation has been out of touch with the times. With the help of the author, the new team elected by the villagers has developed new village regulations. In the original village regulations which do not meet the requirements of the times had declare. At the same time increased environmental protection, protection of cycads, financial management and so on details.The sustainable method in the protection has been successful established under the powerful mea of propaganda and education. This means not only ensure that the Cycas debaoensis population, but also benefit the community residents and their descendants, the students of Guangxi Normal University (volunteers), more against curriculum developed under the background of the new curriculum to local school construction and teachers, which major of performance and value show in: changed the local villagers of the economic backwardness, improved their quality of the ecological civilization, and updated the traditional teaching methods, improved the school Management methods, and fundamentally improved the Cycas debaoensis and its ecological, social environment, ensured its sustainable development too.Papers also summarized the existing problems and shortcomings which on community involvement in the Cycas debaoensis'conservation method, and proposed corresponding countermeasures. These counter measures have important theoretical and practical value for the rural communities of construction, community-based sustainable development and rare endangered species have the long-term effective protection.
