BEIDOU is the first generation satellite navigation system of china. It could provide positioning, SMS communication and timing service to users located in China and surrounded areas. Based on the thorough analysis of BEIDOU satellite navigation positioning system and current situation in unified timing field, the author provided the following two solutions. One is the Receiver Design based on BEIDOU satellite, the other one is the Timing Service Solution based on BEIDOU and GPS systems.Via the introduction of Time Standards, Time Synchronization Technology, GPS Principle, GPS Receiver Design Theory and BEIDOU System Theory, the paper talks about the practical design solutions for BEIDOU Satellite Receiver, BEIDOU Satellite Signal Receiver Antenna and Timing Service Equipment of the Ethernet, Communication System and Power System.The BEIDOU Timing Service Receiver Design adopts the passive mode of one way timing which does not require any system capacity, thus solved the BEIDOU system of restrictions on the number of users.BEIDOU uses the public frequency band which is easily being interfered. The author had undergone lots of anti-disturbance experiments and on-site practices when designed the BEIDOU Satellite Receiving Antenna, thus having provided the applicable anti-interference method for the antenna.Based on the thorough research of BEIDOU System's working mechanism and market investigation, the author provided the modularization design schema for BEIDOU Timing Receiver which supplies general and essential signal output. The convenience for follow-up development of time service products is considered by the author, and it could also be used as the OEM for the equipment providers to undergo system integration development. The author is responsible for the design of RF module, hardware platform and the application program for user interface module.The reliability of BEIDOU system and the stability of GPS is considered by the author when developing the time service system based on the BEIDOU satellite, thus he provided the designs use BEIDOU and GPS redundant back-up. The modularization design schema is adopted by the author too. As for the core module, it adopts the same schema, and the interfaces are separated to cater to the different output interface requirements. Various time service accuracy requirements could be met by crystal clock or atomic clock at different levels.The author is responsible for the following designs and researches: BEIDOU/GPS network time server protocol analysis and synthesis; liquid crystal display driver design; BEIDOU/GPS network time server, BEIDOU/GPS power synchronous clock and BEIDOU/GPS CDMA station clock design schema and hardware platform design realization. The author also takes part in the following researches: BEIDOU and GPS double system merge and non-destructive switch technology, high precision time maintenance technology, high precision network time service procession technology and high precision time and frequency synthesis technology; the above mentioned products have been approved as science and technology achievements. BEIDOU/GPS network time server has won the first prize for science and technology progress in He'nan Province.The successful development of BEIDOU and GPS double system satellite timing service products will accelerate the civilianization of BEIDOU system timing service and strengthen the safety and reliability of time synchronization.
