With the enhancement of cities' economy and scale, and the fast modernization of cities, the scale of real estate in city is becoming more and more large, and the requirement of real estate information management increases quickly. In order to keep the information updated and the reality of data in management information system, and to study on the development of the real estate trade and to help the government make macroscopic decisions, the real estate information system should be able to update and manage the history data, which propose a challenge to develop a real estate information system. The spatio-temporal GIS technology brings it to a horizon. However, because of the chaos of the cognitive on spatio-temporal, and the variety of the expression for time and space, and the complexity of spatio-temporal data, the study on spatio-temporal GIS is in the state of contention of a hundred schools of thought. Thinking about the variety of spatio-temporal model and the real requirement of real estate information system, the author cataloged and summarized the existing spatio-temporal data model, and proposed an object-orientated spatio-temporal model to build a real estate spatio-temporal database, and studied the dynamic variability and spatio-temporal topological relationships of real estate. And the author considered that the spatial position of a house building should be the core of the building object, which should be used to decide the type of the building's variability. The author also designed a structure and mode in relation database to store spatio-temporal data of real estate, and embedded a GIS control named MapX5.0 into the Visual Basic 6.0 IDE , and developed an update and query function for a real estate information system.
