Inshore waters is the most frequent and active area which interact in the Lithosphere, the Hydrosphere, the Aerosphere, and the Biosphere; It is a transitional region which connect the sea and the land. Therefore, it has two kind of different attribute environment characteristic in the sea and the land. It has close relations between the inshore waters and human activities. The quantities of nutrient salt and organic detritus in sea waters and deposit in this area are higher than in coastal waters and open seas. For this reason, inshore waters is abundant in plankton and benthonic organism; it also has quite a high primary productivity of the sea. The marine biological resources in Qingdao's inshore waters are rich. In 2002, the aquatic product output amounted to 1,305,600 tons and the fishery output came to $14,100,000,000. This is quite directly concerned with the high level of Qingdao's sea water chlorophyll A and primary productivity. Therefore, it is important to do research and investigations into Qingdao's chlorophyll-a in inshore water and primary productivity level.During August, 2006 to December, 2006, an investigation had been done by sampling chlorophyll a and primary productivity in Qingdao's inshore waters (E120.117°, N35.325°-E121.358°, N36.338°). The result indicated that:①In 2006, in summer comprehensive surveys, the average density of chlorophyll-a ranged from 1.050 to 5.658 mg/m3; the overall density was 2.485 mg/m3. In winter comprehensive surveys, the average density of chlorophyll A range from 0.345 to 1.837 mg/m3 and the overall density was 1.020 mg/m3. The average density of chlorophyll A and overall density in summer steep overtook the average density in winter. Summer comprehensive surveys and winter comprehensive surveys showed an obvious phenomenon of maximum in Inferior surface layer: the density of chlorophyll A in Inferior surface layer is greater than the density in surface and bottom. ②In 2006, in summer comprehensive surveys, the density of water column of primary productivity ranged from 102.904 to 1056.400 mg/m2·d; the overall density was 442.977 mg/m2·d. in winter comprehensive surveys, the density of water column of chlorophyll A ranged from 40.728 to 598.512 mg/m2·d; the overall density was 196.380 mg/m2·d. The level of primary productivity of water column in summer comprehensive surveys position mostly overtook exceeded the level in winter.③Temperature, Salinity and Strength of illumination are the main factors of environment factors which affect the level of primary productivity. The relevant coefficients of environment factors and primary productivity are not high. That shows that parallel with primary productivity in ocean, primary productive forces in inshore waters influenced by more factors.④In 2006, Jiaozhou Bay's equal level of density of chlorophyll a and primary productivity in the summer comprehensive surveys and the winter comprehensive surveys were all lower than other years'equal levels . The monthly changing of the density of chlorophyll a and primary productivity ranged within the multi-annual scope.
