Rangefinders are widely used to measure distance or detect target orientation in earth measure, architectural measure and military affairs. The Digital Rangefinders based on binocular parallax which we research in this paper is passive, non-contact rangefinders. Compared with active Rangefinders such as laser rangefinders, infrared rangefinders, ultrasonic rangefinders, the Rangefinders based on binocular parallax needn't send signal, which only passively receive signal, so it isn't easy to stick its chin out. At the same time, it doesn't contact target, doesn't influence the character of the measured object, so it can repeated measure. The Rangefinders based on binocular parallax is fast, automatic, Real-time,safe to eye, simple structure, easily use, small and light, reading fair. Its measure scale is large, which from 500m to 6000m, academic precision is 1%.At this paper, we systemic research the theory, precept, manufacture of the Digital Rangefinders based on binocular parallax, we complete those work:1, At the base of analyzing characteristic and development of many Rangefinders,we propose the elementary target of the Rangefinders based on binocular parallax.2, By mean of analyzing the theory of binocular parallax, we research the relationship of structural parameter, measure scale and precision, then, propose the total precept.3, We completed the structure design of The Digital Rangefinders based on binocular parallax, including optical system design, detected system design, mechanical system design and signal disposal system design.4, We completed circuit system design of The Digital Rangefinders based on binocular parallax, including drives cell of CCD, magnifying cell, digital cell, memory cell, control and dispose cell.5, We carry through primary test, gained effectual data, establish base of in-depth research.
