A new round of planning of changchun city has begun, the school is a product of historical development, and the place for the training competent personnel, where education occurs. The school is generated by the educational development, which is a subsystem due to the social elements, include politics, economy, civilization and science. As a social subsystem, if the school's layout and structure is too loosely, it is going against the development of the school's education and progress.As a comprehensive technical system, GIS could manager scientifically and analysis comprehensively the spatial geographic data, provide to a comprehensive technical system used to planning, management, policy decision and research. GIS is an advanced technical tool which could solve effectively the problems of city planning and management. Aiming at the problem of the planning school's spatial layout, using the technology of the Geographic Information System, this paper makes the analysis and the research to spatial layout rationality of the planning elementary schools in changchun city. It's a good method of study to solve the problem of spatial layout, radiation range, and distance or spatial position.Part1: Exordium, expound the topic basis and significance, and discuss the current research situation at home and abroad.Part2: Theoretical foundation and method of studying of spatial layout rationality of the planning elementary schools in changchun city. In this part, the author primarily describes theoretical foundation and method of studying of spatial layout.Part3: Planning elementary school spatial layout rational appraisal in changchun city. Introduce the elementary school present situation of changchun and the data origin of this article studying. It elaborates the appraisal target, the selection principle and the system.Part4: Analysis elementary school spatial layout rationality in changchun city. Separately do the research analysis from overall and the partial. The paper uses the correlation analysis based on SPSS to conduct the research overall to planning elementary school spatial layout, reflected in the changchun various areas, planning school student's density and the school quantity's relativity is not very close, is unable to establish the regression model.
