In this study, the method of extraction technology of invertase of Ceratoides arboresens was probed, sugar metabolism during seed development was researched in order to explain whether low fruit-bearing rate and high abortion rate in seed of Ceratoides arboresens were related with plant sugar metabolism, therefore, by this research, offering some references for related researches of Ceratoides arboresens. The results revealed that pH value of buffer solution was the most important factor for measuring the invertase activity of leaves, and the measuring was also remarkably affected by the other factors. The factors affecting the invertase activity were in the order of pH value of buffer solution > the amount of buffer solution > centrifugal time >centrifugal speed. The optimal conditions were : 2ml/g of buffer solution, 4.5 for pH value of buffer solution, 10000rpm/min for centrifugal speed, 20min for centrifugal time.During seed development, the tendency of content of soluble sugar and starch were continuously decreased in roots and stems, and the activity of invertase was gradually reduced and reached its lowest value by the end of seed development. Simultaneously the content of soluble sugar and starch were obviously higher in roots than stems, possibly due to that stems were the buffering library of energy. The reasons of low fruit-bearing rate and high abortion rate in seeds of Ceratoides arboresens were probably ralated with the lower content of soluble sugar and starch. The of changes of soluble sugar, starch content and the invertase activity all showed the gradually increasing tendancy. The possible reasons were that seeds as sink organs of energe needed urgent energe supply, therefore, the activity of invertase and the content of nutrients were respectively higher.
