Physics experiment possesses important function in education for all-round development. Nowadays, it is an important trend for the reformation of University physics experiment teaching that open physics experiment should be adopted. The premise and primary requirement is that physics laboratory should be open to all the college students, including content of course, teaching and evaluation method and so on. The open teaching method for physics experiment involves the reformation of physics experiment teaching in all dimensions. This new exploration has the virtue of being subjective, flexible and epochal.This new exploration was analyzed thoroughly in this research, based on post-modernism, teaching theory of humanism and education for all-round development.After having investigated the experiment teaching methods, meshing with the present practices, a model of "two stages and three levels, thoroughly open to the college students" was propounded. It was on the basis of principles such as following in proper sequence, realizing the importance of subject and predomination in teaching and that of being unrestrained and restrained. "Two stages" means that the whole teaching period was divided into two stages, during which the traditional method was firstly employed and then the open teaching ways was applied. "Three levels" means that the experiments were arranged according to the following levels: basic experiment, exaltation and innovation experiment. "Thoroughly open to the college students" means that the spirit of open teaching was carried throughout the whole teaching process with the laboratory being open to students for guarantee and the website being employed by students for the whole day long.This method was practiced in teaching process. It was proved that the model had advantages over the traditional one in the activation of students' initiative. It could not only help teachers to better themselves but also increase their responsibility. By exploring it, the resources of laboratory could also be taken full use of and much achievement in teaching could also be obtained.In addition to the significant exploration of this teaching method, how to put it into practice vividly was also analyzed in this thesis.
