The cold bending section product,with such merits as the high intensity, the light weight, the high metal use factor, is one kind of economic sections, widely applied in the automobile, the aviation, the light industry, the machine manufacture as well as the construction fields. The roll forming process is extremely complicated (this paper took channel steel as example), which distortion is the combination of crosswise curving, the longitudinal stretch and the lateral shear. And moreover, the influence formation factor is multitudinous. So far, the characteristics and rules of itself have not yet truly understood and grasped. The technological design and the roll pass design of production were still mainly decided by the experience knowledge, which not only delayed the debugging time and was difficult to adapt the market , but also wasted resources and increased the cost. Therefore, the computer-aided design is necessary and simulation of the steel roller curved formation process is done in order to offer the pre-design theoretical basis.This article first introduced domestic and foreign fundamental research present situation and trend of development about roll forming. And then, it analyzed the trough steel roll curved forming process distortion and the stress, taking the channel steel as the example. And it made the reasonable simplification to the channel steel formation process, established the analysing model, carried on the three dimensional finite element simulation analysis using the software LS-DYNA ANSYS to the trough steel roll forming and obtained the strain distributed rule of the channel steel in the forming process various while going along deformation range stress on the base of elastoplasticity finite distortion theory. Meanwhile, this paper compared the strain distribution situation in the different formation while going along tube blank stress, analyzed the equivalent stress and the equivalent strain curve vs time to the different while going along key point and discussed the influences on the channel steel formation by trough steel roll forming process snapping back phenomenon and some craft parameter. The researching results of this paper provided the reliable forecasting model for the pass system design of the cold bending section product development and the direct basis for the actual production application, which is of important theoretical significance and the application value.
