Imaging logging technology is widely used in the production as a new generation of logging technology since 1990. Domestic imaging logging technology has been introduced since 1992, which has gained some achievements in fracture detection, thin seam identification, sedimentary structure, but the image is only one property of physics. The correlation with the formation character is need to study. And more information should be further researched, for example, the structure and the response of logging equipment, how to calibrate the geology information, how to establish a new method of interpretation and so on.This paper first gives a detailed introduction of the full hole formation microimager logging technology, such as the physical basis, the basic tenets of equipment structure, and the principle of the instrument indicators. Then the paper discusses the factors affecting the working process of ultrasound imaging logging and introduces the corresponding preprocessing of the logging data. the processing of logging data include imaging logging preprocessing ,image generation and display, and image preprocessing ,which are precondition and basis of identification of fracture in the logging image .we studied electrical button depth delay ,rejection of bad points ,acceleration correction ,and tool eccentricity correction successively. on this basis ,we studied the generation and display of image .generating specific chromatography to display geological condition clearly .for the preprocessing of the image ,we studied enhancement processing ,filtering processing ,binarization processing ,and thinning on image processing.Using rock rubbing of model well to calibrate, detective the fractures of the sidewall, and then letter on the map of the log response. Further, do the researcher of the geologic application, include these aspects as follow: the identification of the fracture and the limestone cave, thin seam identification and evaluation, the interpretation of sedimentary structure. for the method of identification of fracture ,we studied it by conductivity anomaly and the image from imaging logging respectively . the fracture identification through conductivity anomaly based on analysis of major electric button measure curve and azimuth curve. the method through the image from imaging logging include human-computer interaction identification and computer automatic recognition. according to practical geological condition measurement and application, give a conclusion of the application range and the tool selected.. Analysis of the imaging logging in fractured carbonate reservoirs in the casing inspection and evaluation of the application. So this paper give some instruction in the exploration and development of heterogeneous reservoir in the ZhongYuan Oil field.
