Dipmeter plays an important role in geological interpretation about structure and sedimentation with measurements of dip angle and azimuth of formation traversed by boreholes. In WuDong area of Hailaer basin, structural features of formation traversed by boreholes are interpreted with structural diplog from short interval correlation of microconductivity curves, and features of dip angle vectors of wells from geological data. Sedimentary bedding and microfacies features are determined with sedimentary diplog from short interval correlation of microconductivity curves, and conventional logs and regional geological data and dip vector mode of cores. Paleocurrent direction of formation is defined by bedding features. On the basis of theoretical analysis for relationship between formation stress and borehole ellipses, the orientation of maximum horizontal principal stress is about N 75°-115°with borehole breakout ellipses from dipmeter logs.Dipmeter log interpretation for five wells show that the structures in WuDong include normal faults, monoclinal structures, unconformities, and sedimentation interpretation shows that sedimentary system in Section one of Nantun Formation is mainly fan-delta.
