The deep Mesozoic volcanic rocks in North Songliao Basin has become animportant reservoir of deep natural gas, according to the previous explorationactivities, and it also has better gas-exploration prospects, the gas prediction and control reserves have been provided. In this paper, an all-round research on predication methods for volcanic rocks hasbeen developed by using core, well-log and seismic data, based on the basic principle of volcanic lithology and geophysics, and the comprehensive research idea ofmulti-disciplines. Xujiaweizi Rift in Songliao Basin will be presented as a case in thispaper.It achieves the trace decipher of volcanic rock of Yingcheng formation by demarcating layershe and analyzing the character of wave , nails down the distribution character of lava and sediment, the aspect of break.It builds the connection of logging data and lithological to identify Volcanic lithological.It sets up identification pattern by contrasting the lithological and lighofacies,eruption of volcanoes.It describes the distribution of volcanoes lithological and lighofacies by analysing earthquake property.We used seismic properties technology which is based on the research of structural evolution and structural fault, regulated scanning dip angle accords to alteration of stratum's attitude, effectively revealed the anisotropism of the reservoir, like fissure and lithologic character,predicted the distribution of the fault in the volcanic rock.By taking correlation analysis of the characteristic of typical gas reservoir, geochemical characteristic of gas&oil, and characteristic of formation water, we obtained the static characteristic of formation and liquid. And associated this with research of structural evolution history, we analyzed types of the gas reservoir, the regulation of the gas reservoir, and the control factors, making research on distribution characteristic of lithology and the relation ship of space allocation of the gas reservoir in of Ying Cheng.Based on the main control factors of reservoir, and associated with characteristic of structural and distribution of lithofacies and the lithologic prediction, Identified and depicted the cap in Ying Cheng formation, and selecting the best. By standing the geology and logged and seismic reports, we revealed that the fault structure is the dominate factor in building the reservoir, and lithofacies controls the quality of the gas reservoir.
