In the recent years, nuclear power industry of China develops rapidly. As the number of nuclear power plant increases and the geographical distribution of the addresses expand. As a result, for Chinese nuclear power development requires, establishing a nuclear power plant engineering geological database system is an imperative and significant thing. It is not only provides a platform for choosing nuclear power plant address and building a model of geology platform, but also provides a platform for the comparative analysis of the data.This paper is based on collecting and analysis Chinese nuclear power plant engineering geological information, spatial database theory, the ArcGIS object- oriented data model geodatabase, and the studying of the built, building and new nuclear power plants, The geographic database for eight samples of nuclear power plant is designed and implied in detail from the structure, space and attributes of such areas. The system is designed from construction of design, implementation and management of the storage building to the structure to specific functions. Finally, based on ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Engine 9.2 platform, using the C#.Net language for a preliminary exploration and the nuclear power plant engineering geological database system is developed for basic prototype and functions.From researching the projects and writing this paper, nuclear power plant engineering geological database is built preliminarily, and implement scientific management for the related data is implied. In practice, find an effective way to the GIS and database building, make useful explorations to some of the key technical (such as designing the structural of database and system, coding attribute data and system processes), solve some difficult problems in researching the project (such as transforming the different data format and vector data quality controlling). The results could be provided to kinds of engineering feature data reference.
