MPS (Marine seismic data Parallel process System) is an oil-gas exploration specialized technology software, which can process land and the marine conventional seismic data, and also the land and the seabed multi-component seismic data, it can run on the Linux/Unix/Windows multi-platforms.Stacking is one of three key technology of the seismic data processing, whose goal is to suppress random noises, enhance the data signal-to-noise ratio (S/N). Velocity analysis provides the best stack velocity for stacking. The normal moveout correction (NMO) eliminates the influence of offset to the reflected wave travel time. High quality NMO is the foundational requirement for gain best seismic stacking profile.Velocity analysis is one part of this system. Velocity analysis is important in the seismic data processing, its'accurate or not will influence NMO, the common-depth-point stacking, the post-stack migration, the time-depth conversion and so on.Usually there are two kinds of techniques for measuring seismic wave velocity: one is the DDM in acoustic well logging, another is the IDM for seismic prospecting data. According to these two aspect information, we can get many kinds of different physics significances and usages seismic velocities, such as horizon velocity, average velocity, dynamic moveout correction (NMO) speed, stacking velocity and migration velocity and so on.The conventional velocity analysis methods are the based on the reflection wave hyperbolic curve, several kinds of common velocity analysis methods outline are as follows:t2-x2 method, Velocity scanning method and CVS method. Another commonly used velocity analysis technique is based on computing the velocity spectrum( Taner and Koehler,1969).The idea is to display some measure of signal coherency on a graph of velocity versus two-way zero-offset time. The underlying principle is to compute the signal coherency on the CMP gather in small time gates that follow a trajectory in offset. Stacking velocities are interpreted from velocity spectra by choosing the velocity function that produces the highest coherency at times with significant event amplitudes. And in my paper, I just used the velocity spectra method in the MPS system.By contrasting the single and many neighboring CDP gathers, research and design the implementation plan for the velocity analysis, realizes the raw data's NMO through the CDP super-gather extraction as well as the corresponding velocity spectrum's drawing and pick up, stack the section for the high grade seismic data to obtain the accurate velocity information.Otherwise, there have many methods for computing velocity spectra, so our system also provide function to open the velocity spectra data. That will be more comfortable for people are using.
