Modern frequently human activities and the increasing urbanization of the world's rapid development have changed the original balance of the Earth's geological environment, giving more and more impact and pressure on urban geological environment. Geological Problems refer to the urban land using, resource exploitation, environmental protection and others are increasingly prominent, directly affecting and constraining the urban development and transformation. Three-dimensional visualization technology has become the hotspot of geological research because of its truly representation of the real world.This article refers to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Team, "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hohhot City engineering geological investigation report". The content of this article aims to make qualitative analysis of the physical geography, regional geological background ,hydro-geological, engineering geological conditions of the studying areas,through analyzing engineering investigation reports of more than 20 investigation Sites in Sai Hai district of Hohhot City.Through domestic and abroad three-dimensional geological modeling technology, this article adopted GOCAD software of formation modeling, making researches on the software GOCAD as follows:1. the use of interpolation algorithm: through comparing several common interpolation algorithms, deciding to use Catmull-Rom interpolation to the area of sparse boreholes, then establishing levels ;2. the use of DSI( Discrete Smooth Interpolation ): smooth processing to formation interface;Establishing real three-dimensional model to ensure that the model can rotate, zoom, cut, and adjust the parameters.The generating three-dimensional formation model is a supplement and upgrade to two-dimensional inspection report (profile, histogram, etc.), which is currently widespread using in construction. The three-dimensional formation model of Sai Hai district of Hohhot City can provide intuitive survey tools for the engineering and technical staffs in the local work. They can quickly and easily understand the formation conditions,through enlarging, cutting, rotating of the model. This paper summarized a large number of mechanical parameters of space of the model, on the basis of that, it also summarized the bearing capacity and compressibility at the cross-section of different depths of study area soil.
