The Application Of Concept Of Sustainable Development In The Management Of Geology

China is one of the few countries in which natural disasters take place frequently,severely and affect widely in the world. Because of the traditional concept of the impact of disasters, most people firstly put their attention to these sudden strong disasters which made great direct loss,such as floods earthquakes and Storm Surge, how over geological disasters are often faded or forgotten. Geological disasters are these disasters that caused by human activities or natural factors and do harm to property safety and people's lives. They not only directly endanger people's lives property life and production, but also make serious damage to water, land, biological, mineral resources and ecological environment. Thus, to some extent, the destructive efftecs of geological disasters, especially those do damage to local sustainable development, are far stronger and more persistent than natural disasters such as floods and typhoons.The landslides and floods comprehensive management project in Huitong County is used to analysis the great importanace of the geological disasters comprehensive management to urban sustainable development. Since prevention and cure of geological disasters is a systematic and long-term work, it is crucial to take actions which suit local circumstances, conbine the implement of hazard mitigation measure with environment treatment, balance the relationship between hazard mitigation and sustainable development, keep society sustainable development, and realize the harmonious society thoroughly. Hence, this paper firstly analysed the relationship between urban sustainable development and geological disasters according to types and characteristics of geological disasters and did mathematical analysis of landslides, unstable rock and other geological disasters to provide the basis to determine the geological conditions. Since the importance of comprehensive management of geological disasters to urban sustainable development, this paper then established a construction management procedure to monitor and early-warn the geological disasters, more specially, the case study of andslides and floods comprehensive management project in Huitong County is used to put forward the corresponding measures to monitor, early-warn and prevent geological disasters, with the aims to establish a natural disaster control system which coordinates with socio-economic development of the region, enhance the overall capability of disaster prevention and reduction, provid essential and scientific basis to and play a positive role in social stability and the establishment of the security system of sustainable economic development.
