This thesis bases on researching the "Introducation of Modern Life Science",a course of general education of East China Normal University.The aim is to construction a new course,which aims at improving nongraduates' literacy of life science,reflecting the characteristic of Teaching Education in East China Normal University,and in accordance with students' need.As a most important part of the system of general education courses in collages and universities,life science classes are valued for their plentiful knowledge and wide application scope.In July of the year of 2002,Ministry of education of China noticed that all the 36 universities established "Biological technology base" must open the public basic life science course for all non-biology major students.In fact,the number of colleges and universities which open the biology general education is more than 36.And some of the universitis have got prominent achievements in the field,and with many state-level excellent courses as byproducts.But if we have an overview of domestic life science curriculum construction conditions,it can be found that there are many insufficients,such as lack of systematic research for curriculum construction,usually exist without clear objectives system andlack of basic theories to support,and so on.And particularly,courses that can reflect the characteristics of normal univerisity are seldom.In this context,the subject is based on the existed "Introduction of Life Sceience",use a series of methods to obtain accurate basis,and finally propose a new solution for the mentioned course.The methods used during the research were literature,questionnaire, interview method and On-the-spot observation.The works included in the research are: first,research to our current college of life science education courses of general introduction of present situation;second,questionnaire survey carried among freshmen and sophisterts for their scientific literacy of life science education courses of general education;third,research on the current "Introduction to modern life sceience" course through the pratical lectures,questionnaire and interviews;fourth,based on the works mentioned above,proposed a new solution for "Introduction to modern life science" suitable for East China Normal University. As the core achievements of the research,the new scheme includes five aspects:the curriculum concept,system construction,the content of the standard,content of classroom teaching practice guidance,student schoolwork assessment guide to "Introduction of modern life science".This new scheme has four remarkable characteristics:first,the strong school-based characteristics;second,good entirety;third,good maneuverability; fourth,embodies the respect of the subjectivity of the students.Course construction is a theory with practice,to promote the alternate interaction process.The author hopes the research become the first step for East China Normal University" Introduction of modern life science" courses of general introduction of the system construction of the course,is to establish a good beginning improvement.If the research can provide some useful information for other general education courses,it will be amazing.
