The study on spatio-temporal variation of community structure of zooplankton and the correlation between ecological factors and zooplankton was conducted in Miyun reservoir in Beijing.In order to evaluate the state of eutrophication about Miyun reservoir,stable and improve water quality and develop fishery in reservoir area.Zooplankton was conducted in Miyun reservoir in Beijing from April to September in 2008.109 species of zooplankton was indentified,among which there were 38 Protozoan species in 34 genera,54 Rotifer species in 24 genera,14 Cladocera species in 8 genera and 3 Copepoda species in 3 genera.The proportion of them was 34.86%,49.54%,12.85%,2.75% respectively.The data indicated that the dominant species of zooplankton were Difflugia globulosa,Centropyxis aculeate,Vorticella microstoma, Zoothamnium arbuscula,Polyarthra trigl,Brachionus angularis, Keratella cohlearis,Asplanchna priodonta,Brachionus budapestiensis, Brachionus urceus,Bosmina longirostris,Leptodora kindti,copepod larva.The study indicated that seasonal fluctuation of species composition of Zooplankton was various in every location.In summary,the major species was Rotifera,the next was Protozoa,the next was Copepoda.The dominant species was Protozoa in July and the maximum of Cladocera present in May.Vertical change of Zooplankton was obvious in April,May and June,but the regularities of vertical change was not obvious.Abundance was 17 to 4405 ind/L,and fluctuation of abundance was very obvious in every season.Abundance was the highest in summer, successively in autumn and spring,the least in winter.Vertical change of fluctuation of abundance was obvious.Seasonal variation of Shannon-Wiener index was obvious,and it was more than 3 in most seasons.Seasonal variation of Pielou eveness index is not obvious,and it was from 0.5 to 0.8.So water quality of Miyun reservoir was well especially in 4 sampling location.The stock on hand of zooplankton increased along with temperatuer's rising,and the correlation of seasonal and vertical change of the stock was obvious,but pH was not restrictive factors in Miyun reservoir.
