| This paper studies the beta negative binomial (BNB) distribution, which is the beta mixture of negative binomial (NB) distribution. We derive the compound BNB and conduct comparisons between NB and BNB. The BNB model is employed to fit some real data sets, and the goodness of fit tests reveal that it performs better in some occasions.
