The allelopathic effects of the volatiles, water extracts and volatile oil of M. maudiae, M. chapensis and M. platypetala on R. pseudoacacia, R. sativus and S. sudanense were studied. The results indicated that the three processing methods of the three Michelia species inhibited the germination rate, root length, seedling height and the activity of perxidase (POD), hyperoxide mutase (SOD) of the three receptors. However, the content of malondiadehyde (MDA) was increased. The result of allelopathic synthesis effect showed that M. maudiae, M. chapensis had stronger allelopathy than M. platypetala with the processing of the volatiles and water extracts; M.chapensis had stronger allelopathy than M. maudiae with the processing of volatile oil. Compared the allelopathic potention of the three processing methods of M. chapensis, volatile oil had the strongest allelopathic potention. And the allelopathic potention of M. chapensis on S. sudanense was the biggest, the index was -0.52. Therefore, the three Michelia species had alleopathic inhibition on the three receptors, moreover their allelochemicals was released by volatiling and leaching with rain and fog.
