The subcellular localization of a protein has close relationship with its function and regulation. Here we established a transient expression system in pea petals using agroinjection in planta. And with the system, we studied the subcellular localization of the TCP proteins of lotus japonicus, which control floral symmetry. As our results show, we can detect GUS expression 30 hours later after agroinjection at the earlist. And with their C terminal fusion with YFP, LjCYC1,LjCYC2,LjCYC3 show different distributions, some of which is the same as predicted. And they show similar distributions when their N terminal is fused with CFP. Different fusion proteins show co-localization when they are co-transformed. These results suggest that the TCP proteins may function together.
