The raster data is widespread in the GIS application day by day, and it has also become an indispensable data source in GIS. But the research and the application of the raster data projection transformation relatively are rare. At present, the popular algorithm of raster data projection transformation in the commercial software is suitable for the small scope image data generally. It is not only slow but also inaccurate in dealing with a wide range of image data, especially the regional or global scope of the data. In order to improve the accuracy and speed of the large-scale projection transformation, and transform the raster data to a common coordinate system quickly, this article has done the following researches on this question:(1) Analyze the characteristics of the vector data and the raster data. The error and accuracy about raster data mathematics foundation are analyzed in detail, and corresponding control measures are proposed in view of each kind of transformation.(2) To conduct the research and the exploration based on the Kriging Interpolation Approximate Grid Algorithm in the raster data projection transformation's application, using C # programming language and ArcEngine has realized raster data projection transformation based on the Kriging Interpolation Approximate Grid Algorithm.(3) Carrying on the opposite experiment to the point-to-point projection transformation and the projection transformation of the Kriging Interpolation Approximate Grid Algorithm, the test results show that the Kriging Interpolation Approximate Grid Algorithm's interpolation calculation is simple. And the transformation speed is quick, the transformation precision is high, the projection region continuity is good. As result, the algorithm can facilitately fast realize coordinate transformation and the projection transformation of the raster data. And it also can put different scales, different coordinate systems, different mathematical basis of the raster data to a unified coordinate system or map projection system, maximize using the existing map data, and realizing integration analysis of the raster data and other data.Finally, the paper summarizes the full text production and proposes the development direction.
