On the basis of inspecting and collecting a large number of documents, data, after a lot of experiments and sorting out data, the geological background of Huainan coalfield, coal-bearing rock formation and the characteristics of coal are discussed. The characteristics of minerals in Huainan coalfield are divided into three parts, including the mineral particles in coal, characteristics of ash yield and the ash components.By means of optical microscopy of Huainan coal, identify components of coal and rock, the content of mineral component at about 10%. By X ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy analysis of mineral in coal of Huainan, found that the mineral is rich in Huainan coal. With the exception of occasional and rare mineral particles were found in Huainan coalfield, and found the P-Al-Ba Shi what has not been found before in the coal.Mineral occurrence in Huainan coal was described in detail, combined with sedimentary environment of the Huainan. The causes of mineral in coal ware analyzed. Most of silicate minerals were found such as kaolinite, illite, albite, zircon, leucite, chlorite, etc. In the phosphate mineral apatite, barium aluminum phosphate rock, and some oxide minerals quartz and rutile were discovered. The sylvite and gypsum, are the debris of land-based sources caused minerals, carbonate minerals such as calcite, Fe dolomite, Strontium, part of the siderite are minerals generally cause of the early stages of peat deposition. A small number of self-engendered stage of minerals, such as siderite, the other later stage of self-engendered minerals, such as calcite, sulphide minerals are self-engendered, and just different shapes of pyrites are formed of different formative stages.Ash production rate is affected by the of depositional environment in coal of Huainan, from the sea - the gulf depositional system, to the delta depositional systems in coal, the ash yield is increasing along the stratigraphic coal seam. That is, from restored depositional environment to the oxidation environment, the yield of coal ash is changed regularly great. The increases of individual coal ash yield are different, because of the different depositional system.Through analyzing the relationship of dry-based composition of total sulfur and ash index in the coal layers, the environment -- approximate causes of coal-based model was set up under the Xiashihezi Group and Shangshihezi Group of Permian in Huainan coalfield. And the equation of the chemical constituents was established along coal layers. Combined the depositional environment, the causes of SO3,Fe2O3,CaO,MgO,SiO2 and Al2O3 have characters of different changes along the coal layers were explained.
