Ever since 2000, with the development of social economy, energy demands increased continuously, and it makes the contradiction between human's requisition from nature and the daily deteriorating environment increased continuously. Especially in the power development construction in western Sichuan, the vulnerability of the geological environment makes the research of the electric power engineering construction site very important. The paper deals with the availability evaluation of electric power engineering construction site in the condition of mountainous valley complex site in western Sichuan, and conclude a general evaluation method.The paper based on the seven selecting construction site of the exist typical project (Luding power transmission and transformation project, Kangding power transmission and transformation project Shuiluohe power transmission and transformation project and Jiulong power transmission and transformation project), and four of them are site on the typical mountainous valley complex site, to evaluate the exist typical project on the follow three aspects: based on the geological background data, evaluate the availability of site structure; using limit equilibrium method, numerical analysis and so on, evaluate the availability of the engineering site, according to the calculation of the foundation bearing capacity and the foundation settlement deformation, evaluate the foundation stability of construction site.Through the analysis and evaluation of the exist typical construction site, conclude the influence factors of the structure stability, the site stability and the foundation stability of the first grade evaluation index area, and through the method of scoring by experts determine the power weight of every influence factor, so as to get the value of the site structure stability, engineering site stability and engineering site foundation stability, and then evaluate the suitability of the site by evaluating the structure stability, the site stability and the foundation stability. As for the exist typical construction site, its availability type of site suitability and the first grade evaluation index can be concluded to three types through the exist evaluations and the used results: bad availability, middle availability and good availability. Through the system cluster analysis between the target site and the exist typical construction site, taking the minimum distance as statistics, taking the site structure stability evaluation value, the engineering site foundation stability evaluation value and site suitability evaluation value as basic index of the cluster analysis, classify the target site to an exist construction site that most nearby: bad availability, middle availability and good availability.
