With the development of the oil well production technology, the producing profile well logging is becoming more and more important. The exactly measuring of the parameter of flowrate and water volume farction always depends on the understanding of the flow pattern. The leak often happens in the Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation because of corrosion and scale formation of pipes. It leads to not only environmental contamination but also economic loss. The reason of corrosion and scale formation of pipes has something to do with flow pattern. So the research on oil-water two-phase flow pattern has a significant application value.In order to simulate oil-water two-phase flow pattern, the software has been developed. Probes measurement system has been designed in order to verify the simulation of oil-water two-phase flow pattern. By combining the probes measurement system with simulation, following conclusions have been achieved:1. Using probes measurement system, the signals of three kinds of flow pattern have been got. The characteristic of three kinds of flow pattern of vertical oil well has been found. According experiment results, we have discovered that the distribution of oil and water in oil-in-water flow is random but it is different with different depth or different velocity in oil-in-water flow and water-in-oil flow.2. Three kinds of flow pattern, which are oil-in-water flow, transitional flow and water-in-oil flow, have been got by simulation. According to the result of simulation, the oil-water two-phase flow pattern transition boundary model has been got by. By the analysis of simulation, the characteristic of three kinds of flow pattern of vertical oil which has been got by analysis of the signals is consistent with results by simulation.3. The two vertical upward oil-water two-phase flow pattern transition boundary models are consistent when water superficial velocity is high, while there is deviation when water superficial velocity is low. It provides a new way for the research of Horizontal Oil-Water Two-Phase Flow, and it is the foundation of Oil-Water-gas Three-Phase research.
