With the continued integration of various subjects, long-range data communications will be widely used in the field of Surveying and Mapping. In this paper, put forward a mapping mode based on mobile communications to realize the idea of long-range data communications. It introduction total station coordinate data to mobile phone by wireless transmission, drawing the surveying draft by mobile telephone, computer reception the coordinate data and the draft remote and real-time. It includes the whole flow of digital mapping.The paper realized a real-time mapping mode based on mobile communication creatively. Depth analysis of data transmission protocol of Bluetooth about mobile phone and Total Station, drawn data response process about "no protocol transfer mode" of GTS330 Total Station, as well as data packet format, to solve the total station coordinates data transfer to mobile phone by Bluetooth; solution many key issues which include drawing graphics, editing graphics, save graphics, compressed graphics based on the mobile phone interface and GDI+ technology, so that be able to quickly draft terrain map, and be stored in a smaller amount of data; creatively solutions based on the SMS technology to send coordinates and the draft data, especially the use of binary data to send graphics data. It proved that the transmission process there is no discrepancies by sending and receiving test many times. To solve a host of multi-client data reception problem that can simultaneously receive and storage multiple sets of coordinates and the draft, respectively, using software mapping topographic maps real-time; At last, maps will be drawn back to the surveying at the scene, making surveying error can be settled in time.The mode based on mobile communication in line with the Mapping Surveyors habit which can operate carrying an intelligent mobile phone installation the system. It improves the efficiency of the surveying. In traditional digital mapping mode, the surveyors generally required to survey the day and mapping at night, leading to reduced efficiency much. Can not detection of surveying errors timely, lead to errors can not found in time; Because surveying group is not together in widely area,, map should not completed in time. It affects the progress of the project under specific circumstances. The mapping model to solve the above problem in all, greatly improve the efficiency of surveying and mapping.The system has the following characteristics: (1) Real-time mapping and modified; (2) Easy to operate; (3) In keeping with the habit of measurement; (4) Many groups can be sent simultaneously; (5) High efficiency, greatly reduced the field staff's strength; (6) Low cost, the user almost no additional investment in equipment.
