With the rapid development of imaging spectrometer technology, hyperspectral remote sensing data processing technology have also made a breakthrough in the progress.Minerals are no longer limited to the types of identification and the identification of chemical constituents.Hyperspectral remote sensing technology can be used to extract the information of weighting the categories of minerals.At the same time, it is possible that rock and mineral information is often used as a weak signal present in the background image.So,how to extract images from remote sensing or separating from the background of all types of minerals, as well as information of their weight has been the application of hyperspectral remote sensing and research focus and the difficultness.This paper took the Ganzhou area in Jiangxi as example to study the methods of extracting clay information from hyperion data.After studying advantages and disadvantages of spectral angle mapper(SAM) and matched filtering(MF),a method has been developed which combines SAM and MF to fix on the information of all kinds of clay Minerals in the test areas. The results show that this method has been successfully used in Hyperion data,at the same time,this method can totally made SAM integrate with MF,combined their advantages and made up their shortcomings, finally, accurately from the background image to extract the weight of information of clay minerals, besides, major part of the weight of the location and type of clay and the location of sampling points and the results of the mineral analysis of samples were consistent very well, all of this reflected the application of the method.At the end of this paper, based on the research of information extraction of clay mineral from satellite remote sensing hyperspectral data. For geological applications of hyperspectral, Hyperspectral in the clay mineral structure mapping system, system data flow,indicators of demand for applications, some recommendations were provided.
