The seismic exploration is a system engineering, so close cooperation among the three links of acquisition, processing and interpretation is necessary, otherwise, it will lead to poor exploration achievement directly. Field acquisition, as the first place in seismic exploration, determines whether or not the geological task can be completed well. Furthermore, field acquisition cost the biggest in the three-dimensional (3D) seismic exploration currently. Therefore, the research work concerning field acquisition has become more and more important.Thick loess area of special geological conditions and complex seismic sur-face, making Yuncheng thick loess region has always been a blank area of coal seismic exploration. This article, through a special thick loess area of the earthq-uake surface and complex geo--logical conditions of the in-depth investigation, analysis, and on this basis denied the conventional excitation parameters in the application of such areas proposed for thick loess region of Yun cheng seismic exploration excitation parameters. Through the application of the excitation par- ameters, access to the zone of seismic reflection data, and then explore a set of suitable low-noise ratio, the complex geological conditions of the earthquake seismic excitation technique. The following work were finished in this paper:a systematic summary of the current seismic excitation parameters in the theory and methods; details of the thick loess area of the Seismology and Geology characteristics and excit-ation parameters of the selected ideas and principles; with the special condi-tions of a work area of the the area, the determination of excitation parameters, and its conduct effectiveness analysis.
