Slop is one of the most basic geological environment in our life and engineering activities, it will do harm to people's life and property security if it collapses. Therefore the main aim in the slop research is to eliminate or reduce the denger it induces. How to figure out the stability and potential sliding surface of the slop will play a key role during prevention for instability and is the principal content of our research. The main contents of this article include the following items:First base on the feature of the site, analyse the influencial factors, work out the transforming model, and made a qualitative analysis for the stability of the slop.Secondly, under the case of nature and rainstorm, calculate the safety coefficient and slop thrust with transfer coefficient method. The result shows: No.2 slop is stable under natural case and instable under rainstorm case, No.1 slop is not stable in both cases. The remaining strength focus mainly on No.1 slop. Then get a conclusion that wachi slop is a retrogressive landslides.Thirdly, Use the finite element software ANSYS to carry out numerical simulation. With different strength reduction factor, compare the horizontal displacement isoline map and plastic strain isoline map, figure out the safety coefficient and critical silding surface of the slop. Finally, considering the difference of the shape, structural feature, forming mechanism and stability, harmness in different condition, put forward some preventive measure, such as establishing preventive system, adopting comprehensive procedure comprising of engineering method and biological method.
