In daily life, the consumption of energy is more and more, but the energy content is less. Oil and gas for instance, the resources available for development have been scarce. Regions which are easy to the development were almost exhausted, while the remaining areas of difficulties are increased.Beforetime, the development of the resources are the ordinary oil and gas resources. To more petroleum and natural gas, people have to turn to the special hydrocarbon-bearing pool development. For the gas and oil resources are stored in the reservoir, people took the Reservoir Porosity as a object of study, while now the reservoir type of research are numerous. Of late years, the geological workers take great interest in fracture-type reservoir, and they achieve great results.Early in the 1920s, there were some fracture-type reservoir studies abroad. The former Soviet Union, the United States and France are representative examples. If divide the fracture in lithology , there are many types. At abroad, the objects of fracture-type reservoir research are carbonate rocks and sandstone. The main research achievements are about these two characters of fracture-type reservoir, and the main method is log method.Relatively speaking, it is a little bit late to study on fracture interiorly (began from 1960s and 1980s have a more in-depth study). Fractured carbonate reservoirs are the focus of domestic research. Through its research, geological workers of our country have summarized some methods. Besides some general methods of the fracture description, they have made some extended progress in the study of some mathematical methods, such as tectonic stress field, finite-element simulation , 3D fracture predication and etc.In recent years, China also has a new three-dimensional seismic exploration of fracture prediction. This method not only can predict the developmental condition and the distribution regularity of fracture, but also can re-construct geophysical characteristics of the response curve of fracture through a certain means. In the use of log data for the quantitative calculation of fracture parameters, there are some new methods. For example, uses artificial neural network and Stoneley waves to study fracture permeability, opening and developmental state.Qum formation in this program is in KASHAN area, central basin of IRAN. Carbonate rocks and some sedimentary clastic rock is a major component of Qum formation. In this paper, the writer studies the strata and lithology of Qum formation in seismic, logging and outcrop and other conventional methods, reveals the regularity of fracture development in this area, calculates the fracture parameter in this area, and finds some geological layers in Qum formation in KASHAN area, central basin of Iran, is suitable for oil and natural gas storage. This paper reveals fracture development and distribution in general fracture description, while describes the principle and formula in various curvature method for fracture prediction, establishes curvature method computational model. Uses a variety of curvature methods to predict the fracture development state of Qum formation in KASHAN area, central basin of Iran, and simulate the fracture distribution. Finally, comparing simulation results with the results from general geological methods, composite forecasts the fracture development state of Qum formation. From the prediction we can conclude that structural curvature method in fracture prediction is feasible and reasonable...
