Curve fairing problems are frequently encountered in the research and appl- ication of NURBS. Though many methods have been proposed for processing of NURBS curves, but the high degree of automation is difficult to achieve, and there is no uniform smoothness criteria, the calculation is large.This paper completed the following areas:1. Summarizes the wide range of practical applications and the resulting curve fairing problem of computer-aided geometric design; briefly describes the curve fairing problem the development process; summarizes the existing solutions and points out the research content of this article.2. Briefly introduces the B-Spline and NURBS curve representation and some basic algorithms ,and briefly extends some algorithms in order to promote the later chapters ,where those are applied to curve fairing.3. By adjusting the parameters of the method to make curves more smooth.4. Introduces of other smoothing methods.5. Gives this article a brief summary of the work done and proposes the further aspects to be studied.
