At present, the extrusive contractions in large numbers of small and medium mechanical processing enterprises are low efficiency, hard strength, low accuracy, and only for simple parts, which are caused by the general-purpose machine tools. It is not realistic to replace all the general-purpose machine tools with the new CNC machine tools because of the high cost. However, for large numbers of small and medium mechanical processing enterprises, improving general-purpose machine tool can make it be an economic NC machine tool which not only satisfies with various machining but also less investment, high-quality requirements, which has been proved in the developed countries several times.In my experiments, the numerical control system and servo drive system were used to make a general-purpose milling machine tool, MaKino, made in Japan in 1952 CNC transformed. The main transformation included:1. Making choices of NC system, and servo derive system according to the requirement of the enterprise.2. Focus on the design of electrical circuit milling, the main circuit, control circuit, signal and lighting sub-circuit electrical circuit module design, selection of components of each module type, CNC system and servo amplifiers of the connections between the modules and integrated circuits, and the design of integrative electrical circuit .3. The setting up of the parameters, the installing and debugging of the products and the specific details of each step .After transformation, the CNC milling machine can be processed curved shape, curved surface and other complex parts which could not be processed by general- purpose milling machine tool. At the same time, the CNC milling machine not only improves the accuracy of parts, but also achieved the automation of processing, which is 3-7 times as efficient as what it used to be.The results suggest that the machine which was transformed can meet the all functions of advanced CNC milling machines.
