Reduction of electrostatic charge accumulation in fluidized bed polymerization reactors of polyethylene can reduce the frequency of reactor wall sheeting incidents and decrease the cost of operating fluidized bed polymerization reactors. The accumulation of excess electrostatic charge in fluidized bed polymerization reactors causes the fluidized polymer particles to adhere to the reactor wall and form wall sheets finally. The mechanism, influencing factors, distribution and control methods of electrostatic charge in gas phase fluidized bed are investigated in this paper. For commercial scale reactor, combining LLDPE plant, the reasons of electrostatic charge generation are analyzed, the aftereffect and relevant phenomena are described, and the control methods are given.
