In the iron industry, the grain size of material in the blast furnace is an important ind-ex in iron and steel smelting processes. In order to use the materials in the furnace scientifically, reasonably and effectively, which can improve the quality and efficien-cy of iron-making, enterprises have to detect grain size of material on-line. According to the backward situation of domestic grain size measurement, a new-style and inno-vative on-line grain size measurement is designed by Zhengzhou University and Sida. Ltd in Xinxiang county, which has improved the efficiency and automatization during iron-making process. As the level of sampling accuracy is a key factor for the detection results of grain size, this paper adopt the reclaiming system of on-line grain size measurement as studying object. Then theoretical analysis and experimental study are carried out to investigate how the variation of structure parameters and working parameters effect the starting characteristics and velocity stability of the system.This paper introduces the general structure and working principle of reclaiming system in detail. Based on the simplified system model, author establishes the system mathematical model by power bond graph methods and determines the value of the relevant structural parameters. Then according to the characteristics of amathematic-al model, a appropriate Runge-Kutta algorithm is programmed with matlab softwa-re Moreover in order to verify the correctness of simulation model, author designs the test device and microcomputer testing system by which many experimental data and a number of the system structure parameters which theoretical formula cann't calculate are obtained. After confirming the correctness of simulation model by comparing the experimental curves and simulation curves, the author adjusts relative parameters to confirm their reparative and comprehensive effects on the starting characteristics and velocity stability of the system. The now setting pressure of the electromagnetic relief valve, the quality of sampling car, the liquid capacity of flexible pipe in the hydraulic system and the stiffness of wire rope which effect the starting characteristics of the system are determined. At the same time, the external load that influences the velocity stability of the system is also identified. In response to these factors, the author identify the influence mechanism through a series of theoretical analysis and experimental study, a lot of useful conclusions are obtained which can improve the system's working performance greatly.
