| Cyclodextrins have a hydrophobic cavity and hydrophilic interface. Due to this structure, cyclodextrins have ability to form inclusion complexes with numerous molecules. They are widely used in the fields of food, pharmaceutics and so on. The polymer which contains cyclodextrin is called cyclodextrin polymer (CDP). CDP not only have the abilities to inclusion, but also have well stability, solubility and adjustable character in chemical reaction. In this paper,β-cyclodextrin terminated of block polymers were synthesized and characterized. The self-assmebly behavior of these polymers was also studied. Contents and results of this dissertation are as following:(1) First, the mono-6-O-Ts–β–CD was prepared by reactingβ-cyclodextrin with tosyl chloride at 1:1 molar ratio in alkaline solution. The yield of mono-6-O-Ts–β–CD was promoted to 15% through changing the adding mode of tosyl chloride. Second, the mono-6-N3-β-CD was prepared. Finally, the production was characterized by FT-IR and ~1H NMR.(2) Theβ-cyclodextrin terminated block polymers (β-CD-PDMA-b-PNIPAM) were prepared by reacting mono-6-N3-β-CD with poly(N-isopropyla-crylamide)-b- poly(N,N-dimethylacrylamide) block copolymers (PDMA-b-PNIPAM) via click reaction. The products were characterized by FT-IR and ~1H NMR. Moreover, thermo-induced micellization behavior of theβ-CD-PDMA-b-PNIPAM and PDMA- b-PNIPAM in dilute aqueous solution was investigated by fluorescence, UV-Vis spectrometer and dynamic light scattering (DLS), from which we obtained the lower critical solution temperature (LCST), critical micelle concentration (CMC) and the particle size as well as the distribution.
