Pentachlorophenol(PCP) is a stable, difficult to degrade, With"Three-induced"effects of toxic and harmful substances, through different ways to enter into the environment, serious threats the ecological environment. So, The treatment of PCP gradually being people's concern in recent years, now widely recognized that the anaerobic biodegradation is a more satisfactory approach. The bioaugmentation technology can combined with the traditional treatment system, play the degradation capacity of microbial fully, and remove some certain types of objective pollutants. In this paper, a continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) was used for studying the anaerobic acclimation culture of sludge, and isolated and screened the strains which have the ability of degradation PCP, and study the treatment effect of bioaugmentation technology to the PCP wastewater.The continuous flow experimental results show that the system has a good pH buffering capacity after the reactor running stably, and have a good removal effects to the PCP and COD also. In the low load of PCP concentrations, the average removal rates of PCP and COD reached 64% and 42%. When the PCP load up to 30×10-3kg/(m3·d), caused a decline of treatment effect of the reactor. Batch experiment results showed that the dosage of glucose and pH values have impacts on the PCP removal rates, the appropriate glucose concentration was 2.5g/L, and the suitable pH value range was 7.08.0.Using the hungate anaerobic roll-tube method, a strain X4 which has a good ability to degrade PCP was isolated from the domesticated sludge, The strain can use PCP as the sole carbon and energy for growth. Through the study of the degradation characteristics of bacteria found that, the optimal conditions of the growth and PCP degradation were: temperature was 35℃, pH value was 7.0. And add the appropriate carbon source can promote the strain X4 to degrade PCP, glucose is the best, its degradation effect increa- sed 22.3% than the non-adding.Add the PCP-degrading bacteria X4 by the intermittent manner to the CSTR reactor to make bioaugmentation study, the results show that, the adding of bacteria can improve the PCP removal rates effectively. the PCP removal rates increased 10% than non-adding bacteria after the system has been enhanced by special bacteria for three times, the best adding amount of bacteria was 3%.
