In this paper, we have studied the synthesis processes of Methyl carbamate (MC). MC was synthesized by methanol and urea as materials, First, determineing the main factors which affect the reaction yield. Then, used the orthogonal test to determine the primary and secondary factors influencing the yield, and finally determined the optimum reaction conditions by single factor experiments, the product yield is 84.67% at the optimum reaction conditions. We also have studied the synthesis processes and reaction mechanism of dimethyl carbonate (DMC). DMC was synthesized by one reaction, using methanol and urea as materials, and dibutyltin oxide as catalyst. Like DMC, the product yield is 23.13% at the optimum reaction conditions. The solubility of ammonia in ethanol has been measured with a static vapor-liquid equilibrium method. The total pressure ranges up to about 0.72 MPa. The temperature amounts to (277.35-328.15) K. The experimental results are used to determine Henry's law constant.
