Solidago Canadensis, an invasive alien weed, was selected as a precursor for the production of activated carbon and cationic adsorbent in this research. It include the preparation and the characterization of activated carbon and cation adsorbent by Solidago Canadensis, and will be applied to wastewater treatment and test their adsorption properties.Firstly, in this study, activated carbon was prepared from the Solidago Canadensis by H3PO4 as activator. Results showed that it was appropriate to choose Solidago Canadensis as raw materials. It indicated that the optimum conditions were as follows:impregnation ratio was 1/3(g/ml), phosphoric acid concentration was 40%, activation temperature was 450℃, activation time was 60 min. The basic adsorption properties of sample were theiodine capacity 1210.89mg/g,1070.24mg/g, the methylene blue capacity 273.2mg/g and the yield of AC 53.03%. Using TG-DTG analyze the carbonation process of Solidago Canadensis and with being soaked in phosphoric acid, a specific surface area and pore size distribution analyzer was employed to determine the N2 adsorption-desorpion. The BET equation, the H-K equation and DFT method were used to calculate the specific surface area, pore volume and pore size distribution. The scan electric microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and FT-IR were also used to investigate the morphology, crystallite structure and chemistry structural characteristics, respectively.Adsorption of lead ion from aqueous solution onto activated carbon prepared from Solidago Canadensis-based activated carbon(AC) was investigated in a batch system. The experimental results of Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption onto the AC showed that the best conditions are:the initial pH=6 approximately, the concentration of Pb(II):300mg/L, the dosage of AC:lmg/L and adsorption time:120min.Under it, the activated carbon revealed relatively strong capability of adsorbing lead ions. At the same time, the results showed that the data of adsorption Pb(II)fitted the pseudo second-order model better and the data of adsorption isotherms fitted the Freundlich model better. The calculate of thermodynamics displayed that the adsorption behaviors of AC in Pb(Ⅱ) is a exothermic reaction.Secondly, in this paper, strong acid cation adsorbent was prepared from the Solidago Canadensis by esterification modified, and Sulfuric acid as esterifying agent, isoamyl alcohol as reaction medium. Apply it to adsorb Pb (Ⅱ). At the same time, Adsorption kinetics, thermodynamics and mechanism were discussed in this study. The experimental results of Pb(Ⅱ) adsorption onto the Solidago Canadensis-based cation adsorbent showed that the best conditions are:the initial pH=5 approximately, the concentration of Pb(Ⅱ):300mg/L, the dosage of cation adsorbent:1.2mg/L and adsorption time:3h. Under it, cation adsorbent revealed relatively strong capability of adsorbing lead ions. In addition, Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms were used to analyze the adsorption equilibrium data. The results showed that the Langmuir adsorption isotherms can agree with the adsorption behavior of Pb(II) on cation adsorbent. The adsorption data were analyzed by using pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic models were found to follow the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The regeneration of waste powder cation adsorbent is very important applications. |
