Tree frog possesses elliptical adhesive discs which enable tree frog to adhere to the vertical wall and leaf. The study of tree frog adhesive discs will provide great inspiration to the development of new tape and adhesive devices for wall-climbing robot. We conduct many experiments on thick photoresist lithography technology and then manufacture the template materials with negative photoresist. By means of the process investigation in different thickness film lithography, we come to the conclusion as follows: (1) if the temperature of before-exposure bake is too low, the photoresist on the film surface will be over-etched in the developing process. (2) exposure energy should be controlled within reasonable limits, too high or too low exposure energy will increase or decrease the proportion of duplicate width. (3) while the post-exposure baking is added to the process, the film surface quality and mechanical properties can be improved effectively and also the surface roughness will be reduced. The structure of after-etched film surface is measured with the Micro XAM surface mapping microscope. The process parameter of photoresist lithography is optimized by the contrast with surface structure of different template materials. The casting process of polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) material is researched on photoresist template. The elasticity modulus of PDMS material are analysed on different noumenon/curing agent ratio, meanwhile, we obtain the relationship between curing temperature and time. The biomimetic viscous materials are fabricated with micro-array structure on the surface. The adhesion properties of the viscous material are tested by the mechanical testing system. The results show that: micro-structure of material surface, material elasticity modulus and contact surface topography all affect the adhesion properties of biomimetic viscous material.
